In this year's IX edition of the Katowice Culture Nature Festival, the theme "Music of the Spheres" guided an exploration of how the universe and music resonate with harmony and mathematical order.
The festival program featured works such as Henryk Mikołaj Górecki's Symphony No. 2 "Copernican" and Gustav Holst's "The Planets." The highlight of the event was a musical encounter with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, conducted by Klaus Mäkelä, a rising star on the international conducting scene. The program included Anton Bruckner's monumental Symphony No. 5 in B-flat major.
